Daymark Privacy Policy

Effective date: 07-14-2026

Daymark (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. Questions? Email adam@hollettsatsea.com.

The short version

  • Daymark has no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no third‑party analytics.
  • Your countdowns live on your device and in your own iCloud account.
  • We only send data off your device in one case: when you choose to share a countdown that has a photo — that photo is uploaded so the recipient can see it.

What Daymark stores, and where

Your countdowns (titles, dates, emoji, themes, settings) are stored on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, they also sync to your other devices through Apple's iCloud under your Apple ID. We can't see this data.

Background photos you add are stored on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere unless you share that countdown (see below).

When you share a countdown

When you tap Share on a countdown, Daymark creates a link. If that countdown has a background photo, the app uploads the image to our server (hollettsatsea.com) so the person you share with can see it. That image:

  • is stored at a random, unguessable URL;
  • is not listed, indexed, or linked to your name, email, or device;
  • is used only to display the countdown you shared.

If you don't want a photo to leave your device, share a countdown without a photo, or remove the photo before sharing.

Contacts

If you use Quick Add ▸ Birthdays, Daymark reads names and birthdays from your Contacts on your device to create birthday countdowns. This happens locally. We do not upload, store, or share your contacts.

Calendar

If you tap Add to Calendar, Daymark writes that one event to your calendar. Daymark does not read your calendar.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No reminder information is sent to us or anyone else.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • We do not use advertising or analytics/tracking SDKs.
  • We do not build profiles of you or track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not require an account or collect your email (beyond emails you send us for support).

Children

Daymark is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention & deletion

Countdowns and photos on your device are removed when you delete them or delete the app. iCloud data is controlled by your Apple ID and can be managed in iOS Settings. Shared‑photo files on our server are retained to keep shared links working; to have a specific shared image removed, email adam@hollettsatsea.com
